A sure sign that summer is winding down is the activity at the Windsor Fairgrounds at the end of every August.

On Thursday, the fairgrounds were lively, with tents going up and midway rides and booths set up along with some trucks and tractors being moved in for a dealer’s display, for the fair that’s been going now for more than 130 years.

Some traditions are long-standing, like judging submitted artwork, like volunteers Emily Foss, a retired Erskine Academy art teacher, and Rebecca Sellers, Foss’s former student who took over her job at the high school in China, who picked winners and put ribbons on the youth and adult art divisions while several other people judged or set up entries in other competitions.

Some traditions, though, are newer. This year, Dan Foster, the fair’s second vice president, said WiFi will be available in the fairgrounds for the first time. I'll see you at the Fair!
