The new fitness center at Mountain Valley Community School in Mexico is almost ready.
It will open shortly after the February school break. Community hours will be 4-7 a.m. and 3-9 p.m. An annual key card will be required, costing around $10.
The center is designed to serve both students and the broader community, functioning as a hub for health and fitness, according to the Regional School Unit 10 Facebook page.
Important details regarding membership, processes and safety protocols will be released soon. It has been funded partly by a grant from the Friends of the River Valley to promote community wellness.

At the Select Board's Community Resiliency Partnership workshop on Feb. 9, Dixfield Town Manager Alicia Conn encouraged attendance with free pizza in exchange for the donation of pennies to address the shortage in the Town Office in making change when people pay taxes or other financial transactions. The effort was a success, she said, noting what was collected should last for awhile. (Bruce Farrin/Staff Writer) |
