Hi everyone,
Even with the longest government shutdown in history coming to an end, there are still many people in Maine who have been negatively impacted by this month's loss of SNAP benefits.
For those affected, or who want to help those in need, here is a comprehensive list of food banks throughout the Lakes Region:
The Bridgton Food Pantry is open on Tuesdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more information, call 207-318-4467.
The Casco Alliance Church Food Pantry is open on the third Monday of each month from 6 to 7 p.m. For more information, call 207-344-5370.
The Casco Village Church Food Pantry is open on the fourth Thursday of each month from 2 to 5:30 p.m. For more information, call 207-627-4282.
The Gray Community Food Pantry is open on the first and third Fridays of each month from noon to 2 p.m. For more information, call 207-657-4351.
Crosswalk Community Outreach, located in Naples, is open every other Monday from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. For more information, call 207-692-0313.
The Raymond Food Pantry is open on the second Thursday of every month from 4 to 6 p.m. For more information, call 207-655-6594.
The Sebago Warming Hut is open on Mondays from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. For more information, call 207-400-7589.
The Standish Food Pantry is open on Mondays from 9:30 to 11 a.m., and Wednesdays from 4 to 6:30 p.m. For more information, call 207-358-0359.
The Windham Food Pantry is open from Monday to Thursday by appointment. For more information, call 207-892-1931.
In addition, several business owners, such as Rebecca Coffin of Hailey's Kitchen, are offering free meals for food-insecure families.

A screening of shorts from The World Trails Film Festival will take place at the Magic Lantern Movie Theater in Bridgton on Thursday, Nov. 13, at 6:30 p.m. The festival will feature a selection of short films from places as far flung as the Himalayas, Pacific Ocean, and the hills of the United Kingdom, all of which focus on the importance of trails to communities around the world. Windham High School will premiere its production of "Grease" on Friday, Nov. 14, at 7 p.m. More performances will be held on Friday and Saturday evenings, and Sunday afternoons, until Sunday, Nov. 23. Tickets, which will be sold at the door, cost $15 for adults, and $13 for students and seniors. For more information, email aobrien@windhamsd.org.
The Raymond Parks and Recreation Department will host a Thanksgiving meal boxing event on at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 18, at Jordan Small Middle School.
