Happy Groundhog Day,
Do you celebrate the day? I have a friend who says it's her favorite holiday.
I've attended her Groundhog Day parties and indulged in her special dirt cake (whipped creme and crushed Oreos - what's not to like?).
Around here there really is no definition for an early spring. But if you think about it - six more weeks of winter or an early spring are exactly the same thing.
What comes six weeks after Groundhog Day? The first day of spring.
Whether Punxsutawney Phil sees his shadow in Pennsylvania today or not, the result here in Oxford Hills will be the same.

Norway Savings Bank has donated $5,000 to help CMTM deliver STEM education programming for students in low-income and Title I elementary schools. This week's Viking Home Games: The basketball teams wrap up their season this week. Tuesday the boys play Brunswick, with the tip-off times set for 4, 5:30 and 7 p.m. The girls play against Blue Hill Wednesday - the JV game starts at 5:30 and varsity at 7 p.m. And Thursday the Vikings' Unified team plays Lewiston, with a 3:30 p.m. game start.
Today is Puzzle Library at the North Waterford Congregational Church from 1-3 p.m. There are more than 300 puzzles to choose from.
Come to CEBE's office in Norway for February's free monthly repair cafe Friday from 6-7 p.m. Focus this session is on ski waxing and tuning and snowshoe repair.
Oxford Recreation is hosting a Valentine's party for the kids Saturday from 3-6 p.m. at the Station House Community Center. Come have a sweet time with games, crafts, and delicious treats - kids of all ages are invited.

Ten years ago Norway was at work to preserve three other historic village properties belonging to the Higgins-Crooker trust: 413 and 419 Main Street, and a residence at 20 Deering Street.
