In case you needed more evidence that this summer was abnormally dry, my search for hay to get the sheep through winter was laborious and tiresome. After calling a half dozen farms, I finally found someone with a decent crop of first-cut hay. Bonus points for delivery. Given the lack of rain, a lot of fields weren't growing well, leaving hay harvest a bit dry for some. 


The sheep are still happily chomping away at the grass, but before we know it, they'll wake up to a fresh coat of cold, white powder that hides their favorite thing.
