On Friday night, I served as a panelist at the first Biddeford mayoral debate, alongside two other Biddeford journalists. We asked the candidates questions sent in by Biddeford voters, and I think it was a great opportunity for voters to get a sense of what each candidate might be like as Biddeford's mayor.
While the organizers had planned to record the debate for those who couldn't attend, there were some unfortunate technical difficulties, and that fell through. But don't worry! If you couldn't attend the debate Friday night, you can read about it in this week's newsletter.
In this week's newsletter: Read about the first Biddeford mayoral debate, the candidates running for mayor, and a possible new fire substation in Biddeford Pool.
As always, feel free to email me with story ideas and photos!

"My Father’s Name" tells the story of Jan Frazier, who discovers that her late father participated in a 1937 lynching. As she uncovers the truth, Jan confronts painful questions about love, legacy, and her own role in a history shaped by racial violence. Following the screening, attendees will be invited to participate in a guided community discussion hosted by members of SURJ Biddeford Saco. Read more here. |
