The sun is officially out past 4:30 p.m., and life is beautiful. For the past two weeks, the chill outside has been impossibly cold, but since the temperature has hit a whopping 32 degrees once again, the world has seemed so much prettier when I step out of the house.

One of the stories I worked on for this week was about a campground in Kennebunkport that is up for auction, and it reminded me of my childhood growing up and attending a similar resort campground every year with my family each August. While some people like to do the hike-to-the-middle-of-nowhere camping, I personally adore a campground with a pool.

My best memories as a child were at that campground in southeastern Connecticut. Nights by the fire roasting marshmallows, bingo on Saturday and sandwiches by the pool, all brought together by the light din of crickets and owls outside of the tent are visions that came to mind when I saw the situation Sandy Pines was in. I hope whatever happens, these memories can still be made for years to come.

In this week's newsletter: Read more about Sandy Pines, a Super Bowl superfan, and more!

Feel free to email me with story ideas, photos, and to say hello!

Thanks for reading,

- Abigail Driscoll
