Growing up near downtown Kennebunk, I have walked or driven by the Methodist Meetinghouse on Portland Road almost every day. It's a beautiful building built in the mid-1800s, and I've always admired it.

I've seen it go from a meetinghouse to an Airbnb, and now, the owners are renovating the building to serve as a family home. There's a lot of history hidden in those walls, and I'll be interested to hear what the contractor finds.

In this week's newsletter: Read about the Methodist Meetinghouse renovation, the search for an interim superintendent, and two new bookstores in the area.

(P.S. We've launched a brand new ePaper product for our Kennebunk Now readers! Enjoy your local news in a digital newspaper format. Find it at the bottom of today's newsletter).

As always, feel free to email me with story ideas and photos!

Thanks for reading,

- Sydney Richelieu
