Your weekly guide to Maine adventure, entertainment, and fun.
Here are some things you can do this week.

Good morning!

We are the champions, my friends.

Don’t believe me? Well then, head to Merrill Auditorium on Thursday night to see Killer Queen. The British Queen tribute band has been at it for three decades, and singer Patrick Myers slays as Freddie Mercury.

There’s still plenty of time to enjoy Maine agricultural fairs. The Cumberland County Fair runs through Saturday, and the Fryeburg Fair kicks off on Sunday and runs through Oct. 6.

You’ve got four chances to see the multiple Tony Award-winning musical “The Book of Mormon.” There are three shows in Portland and one in Bangor this weekend. Our events roundup also features Biddeford Oktoberfest and an African Festival.

The Lincoln Theater in Damariscotta is screening “Trusted Sources” on Thursday night. The compelling journalism documentary will be followed by a discussion with local journalists.

With all there is to do, who couldn’t use a quick and easy meal that you can zap and enjoy? Even better if it’s local. Kittery-based Good To-Go makes microwaveable cups that come in a variety of options, including mushroom risotto, and we saved you even more time by taste-testing them for you.

MORE THINGS TO DO

FALL ABOARD!

All signs are pointing to a spectacular foliage season, and we’re already seeing glimpses of it. Follow Maine Foliage on Instagram and Facebook for details and maps on where to point your car on that foliage drive.

ROCK OUT

Itching for some live music? See a Bob Seger tribute in Arundel on Friday and a Led Zeppelin one in Ogunquit on Saturday. We’ve got details on these and dozens of other shows.

COMING UP

The Maine Lit Fest starts on Oct. 3 and runs through the 13th all over Maine. The literary festival includes more than 20 (mostly free) events in Farmington, Portland, Brunswick, Waterville, Bangor and Presque Isle, as well as online.
