Covering the communities of Westbrook, Gorham and Buxton.

Greetings everyone,

I'm urging readers and alumni from both Gorham and Westbrook high schools to attend on Friday the football rendition of the schools' rivalry. This year's matchup is the first River Bowl and the winner will be presented a trophy that Westbrook-Gorham Rotary Club established.

So, shake the mothballs from your packed away school colors and wear that old sweatshirt and or cap to the big game. Westbrook fans can support their team wearing blue and Gorham fans can don their maroon. Kickoff is 6 p.m. in Westbrook.

You can have a lot of fun sharing some nostalgia with old classmates or neighbors. The teams will appreciate a big turnout to watch them play. Be boisterous. This year's game is shaping up as a classic.

Olmstead Field in Westbrook is the place to be Friday for the first -ever River Bowl. Be there.

In this week's newsletter: Read the pre-game coverage of the River Bowl.

Thanks for reading and have a great week,

- Bob Lowell
