February 12, 2026

I have to come clean: I'm not a huge football fan. I promise I do keep up with it, checking the Pats' scores throughout the season, and I always make sure to watch the Super Bowl. But try as I might, I cannot understand the idea of watching a game between two teams you don't even care about. As time has passed, I have gotten more into it than I was as a kid, but I think one major aspect that keeps me from getting too involved is how sad I get when the Patriots lose.

It's always a bummer when that moment hits in the fourth quarter, that split second where you realize there's no coming back. I think what makes it a little better is that postgame reassurance everyone thinks to themselves: At least they made it this year. Hopefully, this time next year, we'll be parading in the streets, celebrating another win.

Until then, I just hope people come up with some better commercials. Even the people who couldn't care less about the sport tune in for the commercials, but the variety this year was lacking! That's the biggest upset here!
