While summer may seem far away with the recent snow, planning for warm weather activities can bring a bit of sun into these wet days. Yarmouth residents and surrounding neighbors will continue to have a place to shop, eat and gather on Thursday afternoons this summer starting May 1, as the Yarmouth Farmers Market is set to return after a brief cancellation. Read more about the path to the market's revival here.
Feeling more like becoming a farmer yourself, rather than purchasing from them? Read more about joining the growing number of Mainers interested in buying chicks following concerns over egg prices and avian flu.
As always, feel free to send me any story ideas or local announcements, events or photos for the chance to be featured in this community newsletter. I look forward to hearing from you!

CLUES IN CUMBERLAND |

Registration is now open for the annual Cumberland Historical Society's Scavenger Hunt on May 16. This is a lively, interactive event where teams in cars, travel to different sites around town, decipher clues and have a great time learning about people and places in the community.
The cost is $15 per person and all proceeds benefit the Cumberland Historical Society’s GHS Scholarship Fund. If you like riddles, like to laugh and think you know a little bit about our town, then you won’t want to miss out on the night. | THINGS TO DO | How well do you know Yarmouth's history? Test yourself!
Yarmouth Historical Society is excited to host another edition of its popular Yarmouth Trivia Night at Brickyard Hollow Brewing Co. on April 9 starting at 6 p.m. The community event will be a great way to engage with neighbors and friends while learning more about the town. Yarmouth Historical Society has crafted questions that will challenge residents, both old and new, and those just visiting.
Bring a broken or damaged item to the Repair Fair! On April 5 from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., volunteer fixers will repair clothing, small appliances, lamps, electronics, bikes and wooden furniture. There will be tool sharpening and knitting help, too. This is a free event at the North Yarmouth Community Center hosted by North Yarmouth Waste Reduction Committee and Prince Memorial Library. They hope to see you and your things there!
What’s your vision for Route 1? The Greater Portland Council of Governments is holding public meetings in April to facilitate community input about the Reimagining Route 1 project. They will be at the Yarmouth Log Cabin on April 8 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Registration is free and pizza will be provided at no cost to attendees of the in-person meetings. Whether you’re a regular Route 1 user, just curious about what the project is all about or both, GPCOG wants to hear from you!
